रसरशीत हिरव्या झाडावरून
सुरकुतलेले पिवळे पान
गळून पडते.
झाडावर सोडून जाते
एक हलकासा
दिसेल न दिसेलसा व्रण.
त्या व्रणाच्या आगे मागे
किंवा तिथूनच जन्मते...
कोवळे, तान्हे,
लालुस पोपटी पान.
आपल्या बाळमुठींनी
कवटाळून ठेवते झाडाला.
ठाऊक नसते त्याला
पुढे केव्हातरी
आपणही सोडून जाणार आहोत
एक व्रण झाडावर....दिसेल न दिसेलसा.
असे अनेक व्रण
उराशी बाळगत झाड
मात्र उभे तटस्थ.. निश्चल.
