BOOK REVIEW

HEIDI

BY JOHANNA SPYRI

Heidi is an astounding children's fiction, written by Johanna Spyri in the year 1881. This book is an amusing tour with little Heidi, who lived with her Aunt Dete and then travels to the Swiss Alps to live with her grandfather.
Heidi's grandfather initially appears strange and stubborn, whom the villagers never agree with. However, little Heidi discovers the soft side of her grandpa while she lives with him. She proffers us a chance to explore the splendid mountains with her, as she befriends a native goat herder called Peter. Heidi has a lively and playful life in the mountains, which she loves dearly.
There's a turn in Heidi's joyful life when she is separated from the mountains and becomes a playmate to a girl named Clara who can't walk. Young Heidi is full of kindness, courage, and love, which she shares with Clara. Later, Heidi begins to feel homesick. Clara's father being an understanding person sends her back to the mountains.
An innate childlike innocent story keeps unfolding with surprising turns. Heidi's loving, lovable, and radiantly joyous nature somehow draws Clara towards her in the mountains, where a life-changing surprise awaits her. The language is profoundly easy to understand, and the plot is extra sweet.
The story is based in Switzerland and then travels to Frankfurt for a while. This book was first written in German by Spyri, and later it got translated into several languages. The exuberant and light-hearted story is a recommendation for all ages, especially for children.
The book has a truckload of virtues for the little ones, friendship, and sugary kindness being in the limelight. Undoubtedly, a Perfect book to start your reading journey.

My rating for the book 3.8/5

Amish takes you back in time to narrate a tale, that will climb up to and in your heart and make it a home. This tale tells us about Shiva, whose own karma,

Before I Die

Aug 2020

Before I die, by jenny Downham is a young adult, published in 2007, and obviously an internationally bestselling book. This book is described as " heartbreaking and devastating, yet sparkling with life." I believe, there cannot exist a better description of this book in such few words. The name of the book gives a sheer idea of what it could be about. But no, don't be in a hurry to judge a book by its name. As I said about, 'the fault in our stars', this book too is not about death, its about life.
